How to Embody Your CEO Role as a Blogging Business Owner

Posted: June 17, 2021

The following article has affiliate links. Starting a blog for the first time is an amazing yet daunting experience. To be honest, I didn’t realize that I would be in this position. But starting a blog gave me the freedom to write about the things that interest and excite me, which makes me love blogging even more.  The best part is, I can also share photos, videos, and audio, to make my blog posts visually appealing. But before you get too excited, I’d like to share some vital information to give you an idea of what goes down in starting a blog.  1. A new blog hardly receives visits at the beginning  Your posts will have very few readers for a long time. Although these entries initially don’t get traffic, you can still benefit from them if you create content with no expiration date. The more content you build on your blog, the better. Part of your blog’s success will be due to how long you can keep readers on your site. If you have lots of good content, the longer you can keep them there. RECOMMENDED: Get new readers to your blog using SEO 2. You have to be …

How To Create Your Own Linktree With WordPress

Posted: April 18, 2021

Video Tutorial: How To Create Your Own Linktree With WordPress What can I use instead of Linktree? I am going to show you how to create your linktree with WordPress by creating a page on your blog. If you like to take action and get started without reading the introduction click here and jump to the Steps to Create your linktree on WordPress. What Is Linktree Used For? We started using linktree because we wanted to share the many things we do on our Instagram profile, but Instagram only allows a single link. To promote an upcoming event, a new blog post, or video we use services like linktree and tapbio to create a simple page with various links our visitor can pick from. This page, basically an Instagram links landing page, is a brilliant idea. We just forgot we could make the exact same thing on our WordPress website easily and with all the additional features for FREE. What Is An Instagram Landing Page? An Instagram landing page is a single page on a website giving visitors several options to continue their interaction with your brand. These options can be links, videos, testimonials, shop products, newsletter signups, paid offers, and …

How to Start a Blog Using WordPress

Posted: March 30, 2021

So, you’re thinking of starting a blog? Woohoo! We’re so excited for you! Obviously, all of us at The Blogger Union are advocates for blogging. We believe it’s a great way to express yourself + create a business and life you love. We know the techie part about getting your site up can be totally overwhelming. We get it. And the reason we do this free class is because we don’t want that fear to stop you from starting your blog. Why do we want you to start your blog? Mainly for selfish reasons: because we know that your message and you living your purpose can change the world. And we would would like that. So let’s change the world, shall we? STEP 1: Believe in Yourself! For all our Latina friends out there, this saying sounds pretty awesome in Spanish: Si se puede! Yes you can! Why are we cheering you on with the cheesiest slogan ever? Well, because you need to hear this. The main reason people don’t jump over the technical hump, is because they don’t believe they can actually do it. For some of us, the techie stuff automatically has us checking out. Seriously, you need to believe …

SFL Bloggers March Meetup Recap: How To Step Into Your Magic

Posted: May 25, 2022

Hello 2022 and welcome! We started 2022 with a bang at our South Florida Bloggers Meet-Up! On March 19, 2022, we found ourselves back into the swing of things with our March Meetup. The event was centered around women empowerment and self-love and was hosted by food hall Doral Yard (@doralyard). Lunch and cocktails were provided by the restaurants you’ll find at Doral Yard: Della Bowls, Yip Miami, Un Pollo, and Santo Dulce Churros. It was hard to pick just one place to dine, as all the options were equally delicious and amazing! Founder, Paola Mendez, initiated the event with a warm welcome to all our current and new members. A panel was held shortly after which included Paola Mendez (@coralgableslove), Annie Vazquez (@anniethealchemist), and Gabriela Ortega (@girlsgoneboss). The panelists discussed techniques to practice self-love so that all our attendees could step into their magic! Panelists shared what self-love meant to them and how they practiced sharing self-love with themselves. After the panel and a little self-guided meditation, our members had the opportunity and were encouraged to interact and mingle with our sponsors, Chevrolet, Café la Llave, Baptist Health, Luz Flora, and others. The Chevrolet team brought along with them …

DC Bloggers October Meetup: Blogger Authenticity

Posted: November 15, 2021

On Thursday, October 21 the DC Bloggers gathered at Nordstrom at Pentagon City Center to hear Shell of @acourageousbeauty speak about blogger authenticity. Shell kept it real and raw, full of emotions, and most importantly authentic. Here are the key takeaways: 1. It is exhausting and lonely trying to people-please, but easy to be your authentic self. 2. Don’t look to others to define who you are or what you want to be. We all have different talents, interests, thoughts, and ideas. Let that shine through to your audience. The right people will find you and thank you for it! 3. Being authentic is NOT about over sharing, it’s about discernment. You do not have to be an open book, as long as what you do share is true to yourself. 4. It’s okay to try things out to find your niche. We all go through a period at the beginning of our blogging journey of experimentation. Once you discover what you are passionate about, stick with it. A special thanks to Nordstrom at Pentagon City Center for hosting us, our photographer Wild Soul Media, videographer Out Of Time Productions, and of course Shell for sharing her story and amazing …

September DC Bloggers Meetup Recap: Food Blogging & Photography

Posted: October 19, 2021

On September 15th, 2021 the DC Bloggers hosted their first ever food blogger meet-up in sponsorship with PLNT Burger, located at The Sandlot Georgetown. Over 50 local food bloggers came to hear Erin Hill from @hillea, talk all things food blogging and food photography! Here are the top three things we learned: Lighting and Angles- Restaurants and other businesses really rely on their food photography to showcase their skills and attract customers. It is so important to take a share photos of food with great lighting and the best angles to capture their creations! Follow up! You may score a collaboration with a restaurant initially, however, follow-up as you never know the relationship you can build that could turn into a paid advertisement later on down the road. If you are doing a collaboration with a restaurant, don’t forget to tip your server. Although the food is complimentary, the service isn’t. Aldo, try your best not to waste any food during your collab! PLNT Burger served a sampling of several featured menu items: like their PLNT Burger (Slider), a fan favorite, Mini Crispy Chik N’ Funguy, their sweet potato Fries w/ the delicious maple mustard, bloomies w/ bloomies sauce and …

During the presentation, Katy gave us practical tips & tricks we can use for interviewing- not only in a professional setting, but also when having day to day conversations with others. To become a better interviewer, Katy spoke to us about how to bring out personal stories of the people we encounter, how to mine for more depth in their answers, how to create a narrative arc in our questions, and even find out about the common mistakes interviewers make. Rome Bloggers December 2017 Meetup

Posted: July 10, 2018

To kick off the end of the year, Rome Bloggers hosted a fun, interactive aperitivo meetup at the Peaky Blinders cocktail bar located right in the center of the city, between Piazza Navona and Castel Sant’Angelo. Peaky Blinders cocktail bar is the perfect place to go sit down and enjoy a drink from their carefully crafted menu. During the aperitivo, they provided us with drinks, cheese, and curated meat while chatting about holiday plans, travel, work & more. Although many of our Rome Blogger members were traveling during this time, we were able to keep the meetup small and intimate to really get to know one another and chat about ideas for future blogger meet-ups. Having this time to chat was well-needed to settle into the end of the year. We plan on having very exciting events to come in the new year and can’t wait to have everyone participate. If you are new to Rome Bloggers, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates on events which are hosted monthly. Also, a huge thank you to Peaky Blinders for hosting us in their beautiful space. If you’d like to check out Peaky Blinders while in …
