On Saturday, June 22nd, South Florida Mom Bloggers’ “How to Monetize Your Podcast” June Meetup was hosted by Nanndi Frozen Cream and Pastry Shop, and it was – without a doubt – an unforgettable one.
We laughed, we cried, we learned, and we grew. Mayra and Michelle captivated the audience with their knowledge of the do’s and don’ts when you are planning to launch your podcast. And they delivered all this information with the amazing sense of humor that is very characteristic of them.
Mayra Ramallo is a marketing and communications professional with over 15 years of experience. She has used her degree in Journalism and Social Media Management to improve communication processes for publishing companies and has worked as a journalist to develop key marketing initiatives. Mayra is part of the Miami Fashion Week team, designing and running marketing strategies for the entertainment and fashion industry.
Michelle Dernersissian is a Venezuelan journalist, radio and television host, editor, and mother. Not only is she editor of the news media platform “EME de Mujer US,”she also has a brand of beautiful swimsuits – Lolita Colita.
Together, Michelle and Mayra host the podcast “Trapitos al Sol,” where they talk about all things motherhood.
The format of this meetup was different from all the others.
First, Mayra and Michelle talked about their journey in creating their podcast; they suggested some equipment and tools that podcasters need in order to record and edit audio; but, most importantly, they created an atmosphere of community, love, and compassion that made us feel closer to one another.
Our speakers recommend the following podcasts:
- Entiende tu mente
- Radio Ambulante
- Sorry Mom
- El Podcast de Cristina Mitre
- Medita Podcast
- Cualquier tiempo pasado fue anterior
- Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls
- TED en español
- Latinos who Lunch
Nanndi was an amazing host! They provided us with coffee, pastries, banana nut bread, and cookies – they were all absolutely delicious.
Since the group was relatively small, we all introduced ourselves, followed each other on Instagram, and talked about our respective careers and journeys. Between the top-notch hospitality of the folks at Nanndi, and the conversation of our officers, speakers, and attendees, we enjoyed ourselves so much that none of us wanted to leave.
We’re sure Mayra spoke for us all when she said, “This wasn’t just a meetup, it was therapy.”
We’re so happy with the community that we’ve created, and feel more motivated than ever to continue providing quality meetups for our members.
Thank you so much to our speakers, our sponsors, Nanndi, and our members for contributing to such a rewarding meetup!
We can’t wait to see you next month!
Big Thanks to Our Sponsors
