Orlando Bloggers June Meetup Recap

By Alex Dimovski · On July 7, 2018

You’ve seen your friends go LIVE on Facebook, Instagram, and Periscope. Perhaps you watched your favorite beauty guru apply a new look or a food blogger show you a new dinner recipe. Facebook Live and live streaming, in general, has become one of the top blogging trends of 2018, and is your secret weapon to skyrocketing your following!

On June 16th, the Orlando Bloggers had a special feature guest:

Orlando Bloggers June Meetup speaker Angie Curcio
Angie Curcio – An experienced holistic health coach, mother and wife.

Angie grew her brand using the power of social media – specifically Facebook and Facebook Live. The Orlando Blogger Union got the opportunity to meet up with Angie for a coffee and a chat at the Industrious Orlando.

Natalie from Industrious Orlando was our host for the afternoon, who told the Orlando bloggers that they had just opened up an Orlando location. Industrious Orlando gets different industries together and fosters a local community. The complimentary coffee at Industrious Orlando is from Lineage Coffee in Orlando.

Industrious Orlando was gracious to offer a complimentary week for Orlando bloggers that attended the meetup. Sometimes all you need is a quiet space of your own that is not a coffee shop.

As we were seated in the main common area of Industrious Orlando, we sat and chatted with Angie over a cup of coffee. Angie divulged her tips and advice on how to use Facebook live to boost your blog or website. She started off using Facebook Live to grow her following online, which grew into other avenues where people started to recognize you. It’s amazing what momentum you can create with Facebook Live.

  • The key to growing your brand and blog is consistency – your audience should recognize you from common areas. When you create consistency, that is where people recognize and trust you. Your audience is used to seeing you in the same place and/or the same time. For instance, you post a “Taco Tuesday” or have an #OOTD every Monday.
  • When it comes to your audience, do you know who you are talking to? Knowing what kind of audience you have is the key to having a clear goal. If your goal is to drive traffic to your profiles, blogs or website, do a Facebook Live where you can send them to your blog. Beware of sounding too “promotional”. According to Angie, your content should be 80% value, and 20% promotional.
  • Don’t forget to choose a title and create curiosity – this means that you should not “give it all away”.
  • Ask yourself, “Did I add value to my audience?

These are just a few of the tips that Angie Curcio shared with the Orlando Blogger Union, along with her strategies for creating videos, getting affiliate links and how to build your brand. To get the full experience, join the Orlando Bloggers and attend one of our monthly meetups, which are held at a different location in Orlando each month.
