The March Minneapolis Blogger Union event was our biggest event yet! Our workshop topic focused on Monetizing Your Blog & Knowing Your Value as a Blogger/Influencer. Speakers Taylor Brown (Minneapolis Blogger & Influencer) and Alex Lodner (most recently of Strategic Socials) were on hand to lend their expertise with Joy by Jo there on hand to photograph it all.
As they entered The Linney (the aptly named side room at The Lynhall in Uptown) bloggers were greeted with a mimosa and a smile. The bloggers got an introduction from Annie, the owner of The Lynhall. She spoke about her background, the community at the restaurant, and talked about a variety of great upcoming events.
Moderated by Claudia Camargo Torres, the speakers went back and forth between questions from the audience and questions from prompted by Claudia. Questions ranged from:
- How do you negotiate with brands?
- How do you decide your rate?
- What are the best ways to monetize?
- How do I know my value/worth as an influencer?
Bloggers could be seen writing down notes, nodding along, and participating in the conversation. One of the hopes we have is that the community of bloggers always feel welcome to join the conversation and feel empowered to ask questions.
The talk lasted about 45 minutes with both speakers giving valuable feedback. After the speakers exited the state, the bloggers had the opportunity to speak with them, network, and enjoy the tasty confections provided by the generous hosts at The Lynhall.
