To start off the holiday season the DC Chapter had a fantastic cocktail party with Old Forester, the longest running bourbon on the market! The DC Chapter was so excited to participate and get together 10 bloggers from across the DC metro area to celebrate this amazing brand and bring in the holiday cheer the right way!
The event was celebrated at the gorgeous Succotash restaurant in DC, where there was a classy ambience accompanied by excellent service. Think: elegance meets holiday cheer – that cozy feeling with kindness in the air. The DC Chapter was lucky enough to take a cocktail class where they tested and tasted the versatility and beauty of the classic Old Forester bourbon in various combinations. The influencers even had a cocktail competition to see who could work the most magic, using Old Forester as a base. The results, apart from being happily unexpected and delicious, were also really unique and there was everything from old fashioned, strong bourbon options to more tropical mixes.
After the cocktail competition, there was also a scotch and cheese paring with 5 types of scotch and 5 types of cheese, with all sorts of glorious mixes between them all! The event was topped off with exquisite options and samplers from the Succotash menu, a restaurant nestled in the heart of Penn Quarter in downtown Washington, DC. They have amazing southern options like smoked chicken wings and sassy pork ribs, but they also surprised the DC Chapter with dishes like the sweet corn panna cotta – it accentuated a truly memorable experience for everyone in attendance.
To close the night the group also made Irish coffee with Slane, which includes Slane Irish Whiskey, Demerara simple syrup and leaving room at the top of your glass for heavy cream. To throw in a bit of holiday fare, the group also added little holiday treats like candy canes, whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate! This is a strong but tasty option to spice up parties and surprise your guests, which was a huge hit as well. A huge thanks to Old Forester, Slane, and Succotash for providing a remarkable (and delicious) night out for the DC chapter!
