DC Bloggers January Meetup: Public Relations for Bloggers

On Sunday, January 12th, the DC Bloggers hosted their first event of 2020 at the premier hair salon in DC, Ian McCabe Studio at their West End location. Sara McDermott, Founder of Eleven Eleven PR talked all things Public Relations for Bloggers.

Here are the top three takeaways from this sold-out event:

• It is important to establish your identity. The better you can define who you are when you reach out to PR companies, the better a company can match you with events and brands.
• PR companies love when you reach out to them! Keep it conversational in your initial email; avoid sounding like a spam email.
• Define your opportunity beforehand- Is it paid? What exactly are you offering? What is the timing for blog feedback? Who controls the brand voice? Who approves the post?
